Diesel prices come from the EIA's weekly retail price survey. The EIA publishes a state-specific price for California only — every other state shown here uses its PADD (Petroleum Administration for Defense District) regional average, which is the most specific real EIA data available for that state, not a national fallback. You can always overwrite the price field with what you actually paid.
